Board of Appeal and Equalization Hearing               April 26, 2012          

Crow Wing Town Hall                 10:00 a.m.

Board Members Present: Chairman Mark Platta, Supervisors Greg Smith and Dave Schultz, Clerk Virginia Rogers.    County Assessors Members present:  Darrel Olson, Bob Miller and Brian Augusta

Mark called the meeting to order and the pledge to the flag was recited.

David Fletcher - Parcel 54025100A00009 - questioned the increase in value on his property. It was explained that two story houses did see an adjustment. After looking at the appraisal for $235,000 and other information provided, Greg made a  motion to reduced the assessed value to $235,000. The motion was seconded by  Mark and passed with Dave abstaining.

Dave Schultz - Parcel 540281400000009, 540281300000009, 540322100A00009 - asked if he had increased valuation for a fireplace. This was confirmed and Mark made a motion to remove it. The motion was seconded by Greg and passes with Dave abstaining. Dave also asked questions about wetland percentage on another property. Darrell will review the aerial photos to make sure that what they have recorded is accurate.

Mark Platta – Parcel 540112400B00009 - asked that the percentage of completion on his home be checked, as it was reviewed last year and changes should have been made. The records indicated that the basement is still recorded as having 728 square feet finished. Darrell will make sure this change gets made.

Carol Wermter –Parcel 54023101C & 540203101AZ – wanted to make sure changes were made in the records, as they didn’t appear to be on her statement. She will be sent a new statement and the changes were made after the one she received had been printed.

The meeting adjourned by general consent at 11:40 p.m.
