Regular Meeting January

Board Members Present: Chairman
Mark Platta, Supervisors Greg Smith and Dave Schultz and Clerk Virginia Rogers and Treasurer Susan Goodew.
Mark called the meeting to order and the pledge to the
flag was recited.
No gopher bounties were claimed.
Rob Anthony was present to discuss the junk salvage aspect
of the Anthony property. The Anthony’s have been asked to decide whether or not they wish to continue operating as a
business and meet the requirements of the ordinance regarding junk salvage yards or clean up the property and consider it
residential. There was discussion about fencing and other items. Rob said that he would start cleaning up the front of the
property the next day, including moving boats that are by the driveway to a location that is not visible from the road. He
was asked to attend the January 24th meeting.
The 2011 budget report was reviewed. It was determined
that board members will look this over and bring back recommendations for the 2012 budget on the 24th.
Commissioner Phil Trusty was present to answer questions
on behalf of the county. Various items were discussed including the new county ordinance and how it defines and governs junk
salvage yards, the four-wheeler trail that has been under discussion for some time and the upcoming County Association of
Townships Meeting.
The Audit and Budget meetings will be made part of the
regular agenda on the February 14th meeting.
Susie gave the treasurer’s report and claims were
approved.
Dave gave the road report. A $50 check was received from
the Court Administrator. This is the first payment from the vandals who damaged township signs last summer. All the new road signs have been received and many of them have been installed.
The minutes of the December 6th meeting were reviewed.
Greg made a motion to accept the minutes as written. The motion was seconded by Dave and passed unanimously.
Greg made a motion to accept the contract from Crow Wing
County to handle the voting equipment and ballots for the township election in March. The motion was seconded by Dave. Mark
and Ginny both filed to be on the ballot.
Claims were paid and correspondence was reviewed. The meeting
adjourned by general consent at 7:15 p.m.
