October 12, 2010 Regular Meeting
The Crow
Wing Township Board of Supervisors held its Regular Meeting on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. at the Crow Wing Town
Hall. Present were Chairman Greg Smith, Supervisors Mark Platta and Dave Schultz,
Clerk Virginia Rogers, Treasurer Susan Goodew, Randy Power and Annamay Koering.
No gopher bounties were claimed.
Mark
mentioned that the day care business on Buffalo Creek Road still has cars parking along the road during the day. Another letter
will be sent letting them know that if their business changes the character of the neighborhood, which this sort of parking
does appear to do, they will have to apply for a CUP for the business.
The roads
in the plat of Bachman Acres were considered. Dave made a motion to adopt the resolution attached to these minutes, assuming
maintenance of Black Bear Trail and Black Bear Circle. The motion was seconded by Mark and carried by unanimous vote.
Theresa
Goble had asked about the second half of our fire protection payment. Mark had contacted her to discuss the fact that we had
agreed to pay in July and January, after receiving our property tax payments from the county. The city would like us to pay
earlier if at all possible. Mark made a motion to pay in June and December, sending the checks out once the tax payments have
been received. The motion was seconded by Dave and carried by unanimous vote.
Annamay
Koering was present to request a transfer of the cemetery lot that was in her husband's name into her trust. Mark made a motion
to approve the transfer. The motion was seconded by Dave and carried by unanimous vote.
Susie
gave the treasurer’s report.
Dave
gave the road report. He submitted the list of roads to the County Highway Department, but has not received a confirmation
that they received it. He will get in touch with Tim Bray about some questions the county seems to have on the road mileage.
He noted that he has been working on poisoning gophers. A letter should be sent to Jerry Callahan about the truck and other
debris in the road right of way. Some shrubs have been planted possibly in the right of way on Ravenswood Road and Burr Lane.
Greg will take a look at them and see if he thinks they will need to be moved.
The minutes
of the September 28, 2010 regular meeting were reviewed. Dave made a motion to approve the minutes as written. The motion
was seconded by Greg and carried by unanimous vote.
Claims
were paid and correspondence was reviewed.
The meeting
was adjourned at 7:45 p.m. by general consent.
