TOWN BOARD SPECIAL MEETING, SATURDAY, MARCH 7, 2020 1:00 PM, CROW WING TOWN HALL
Board Members Present: Vice-chairman Doug Kern, Supervisor Dave Schultz via Skype, Clerk Duane Ruona. Chairman Greg
Smith was absent.
Doug called the meeting to order at 1:00 pm and the pledge to the flag was recited.
Doug made a motion to approve the agenda. Dave seconded, motion passed 2-0.
Under New Business the Bid for road improvements to Crow Wing Township roads that is included in Crow Wing County Projects
CP 18-123-02 and CP 18-153-02 was discussed. The bid from Anderson Brothers Construction was $331,989.78 for constructing
110th Street, Forest Heights Drive, Black Bear Trail, Black Bear Circle, and Forest Heights Circle with engineering costs
of $33,198.98 for a total of $365,188.76. This was 5.7% below the Engineers Estimate of $387,073.17.
The Alternate Bid for constructing Boulder Court, Sand Creek Circle, and Stonewood Court was an additional $39,606.44
with engineering costs of $3,960.64 for a total of $43,567.08. This was 11.6% below the Engineers Estimate of $49,291.22.
The total township project cost is $408,755.84 which is 6.3% below the Engineers Estimate of $436,364.39.
The cost of doing the Alternate Bid roads at a future date would be higher than the current cost of adding them to the
existing road project. Doug made a motion to approve the Base Bid and Alternate Bid for township roads included in Crow Wing
County Project CP 18-123-02 and CP 18-153-02 in the total amount of $408,755.84. Dave seconded, motion passed 2-0.
