Regular Meeting December 13, 2016; 6:00pm Crow Wing Town Hall
Board Members Present: Chairman Mark Platta, Supervisors Greg Smith & Dave Schultz, Treasurer Sue Kern
Mark called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm and the pledge to the flag was recited.
There were no gopher bounties.
Mark and Kris Peterson were here to purchase a cemetery plot. Mark will do an amended deed. They paid the $500 for the
plot.
Brad gave a report on Wade Tomberlin. Doug and Dan met with him and checked on the fence. He intends to go further with
the fence to the south. The fence that is done is a good length and covers a lot of the problem. There will be follow up
in the spring. Wade was present at the meeting. He states the fence has been extended to the North boundary and 60' to the
West. They are hopeful this will resolve the main issue there. Brad presented photographs of the fence.
Brad mentioned there has been some improvement with the Dillon property. No other communication has been received.
Brad mentioned Josh Neelan called him and let him know he got a little bit behind. He plans to get a bunch done in the
next couple of weeks.
Brad has not heard anything from Wesley Juaire and has not been to the property since October. The clerk was instructed
to write him a letter telling him we are watching and keeping track of the cleanliness of the site and thank him for what
he has gotten done and to please follow through with remaining items.
Public comments: Randy brought up Center Township is interested in having a recycling program and had questions about
starting one up. He told her to check the website.
Mark mentioned his phone was not working and he missed 20+ messages regarding the snow plowing during the storm. He has
that fixed now.
There was no Planning Commission meeting this month.
Claims and the Treasurer's report were examined and approved.
Dave presented the road report. Tri-City has finished one culvert. Greg made a motion to pay Tri City Paving the balance
due on the road project plus the culvert installation. Dave seconded. Motion passed. Dave still has trees to clean up from
the storm. Dave received quotes for the 2017 crack sealing of 35 miles of township roads. Allied Blacktop Co. will only
router & seal cracks ¼" or wider for $69,500. Finn Ice will fill all major cracks for $76,440. Anderson Brothers
will fill the cracks for $71,408. Mark made a motion to accept Anderson Brother's quote. Greg seconded. Motion passed.
Linda Norby will be starting Recycling on December 17th.
Mark will take the Board of Appeal and Equalization class online. Mark will consider attending the January 30, 2017
City-County-Township Coordinating Meeting at the County Highway Department.
The board examined the minutes from November 29, 2016. Mark made a motion to accept the minutes, Dave seconded. Motion
passed.
