Board Members Present: Chairman Greg Smith, Supervisors
Mark Platta and Dave Schultz, Clerk Virginia Rogers and Deputy Clerk Susan Amick.
Greg called the meeting to order and the pledge
to the flag was recited.
Ryan DeChaine was present concerning his family’s petition for a cartway to a landlocked parcel
that they own. Dale Jensen, Luella Tisdell and Ryan Schultz were also present regarding this issue. Discussion followed concerning
the potential routes. The petition requested a route across the Schultz properties following the snowmobile trail. State statutes
were reviewed. Ryan was encouraged to continue to try to negotiate a private easement and to pursue the cartway as a last
resort. A deposit of funds would need to be received before the town board could move forward. He was asked to return to the
September 9th meeting if an easement has not been negotiated by then.
Brad gave an update from the Planning Commission
and the Anthony cleanup was discussed.
A request had been received to gravel what the town
board determined is a private drive off the cul de sac on Erin Road. The request will be denied due to that portion not being
a town road.
A bill from the highway department had been received
very late and with no date on the salt sand purchase. Ginny or Susan will get more information about this purchase.
The VFW has donated two very nice flags to the township. We will send them a thank you.
Ginny Rogers will be leaving the clerk position
to be replaced by Susan Amick on September 1, 2014.
Dave made a motion to approve the minutes of the
August 5th meeting as written. The motion was seconded by Greg and passed unanimously,
The meeting adjourned by general consent at
8:10 p.m.
