was recited.
The AWAIR safety meeting was held with township employees in
attendance. Mark reviewed the goals of the program and safety rules for all
employees. No injuries were reported during the past year and all safety rules
discussed were verified as being followed.
PLANNING AND ZONING
The annual meeting with the planning commission was the next
item on the agenda. Linda Schuety’s term ends this year. Linda was asked if she
was willing to serve another term and she indicated that she was. Dave made a
motion to appoint her to another four year term. The motion was seconded by
Mark and passed unanimously. Brad gave an update on planning commission
activities.
County Engineer Tim Bray was present to give an update from
the County Highway Department. Questions were asked about reopening the bridge
on North Koering Road. It was noted that 50th Ave in St. Mathias and
Crow Wing Townships is bearing the bulk of the traffic from a large area due to
the closing of the bridge. The road isn’t capable of handling so many vehicles.
Tim said that the county will not be contributing any money for that project
and that the townships will have to work out how to fund the project.
Dave made a motion to approve the minutes of the April 8th
meeting as written. The motion was seconded by Mark and passed unanimously.
The meeting adjourned by general consent at 7:15 p.m.
