PLANNING
& ZONING
Application 12-4163 Applicant: Kevin Vogel
The board considered the application for an ordinance amendment
which would allow wildlife parks in the Commercial II zoning district. The recommendation from the Planning Commission was
for approval. Mark made a motion to approve the amendment as written. The motion was seconded by Greg and passed unanimously.
Rob Anthony was not present and the maps and plans that
were to have been completed by this date have not been received. The board takes this as a decision to not comply with the
junk salvage ordinance and, therefore, the property is considered to be in violation of the residential outside storage portion
of the land use ordinance. As discussed previously, this property must comply with the land use ordinance by July 31, 2013.
A letter will be sent informing him of this.
The Dillon violation was discussed. A new complaint had
been received regarding the activities on the property and asking if permits have been obtained. A letter was written by the
board and will be sent.
Dave made a motion to transfer $100,000 from road and bridge
to street improvement in order to continue saving toward the large repaving project that will be required in the future. The
motion was seconded by Greg and passed unanimously. Dave made a motion to open a separate account for the street improvement
fund which would hold the bulk of the money from that fund. The account should be opened at whichever bank is offering the
best interest rate for a money market account or 12 month CD. The motion was seconded by Greg and passed unanimously.
Greg had checked the cost of installing a light at Business
371 and 70th Ave. The cost would be approximately $1000. A request had been received to put up and end 30 mph sign
on Wetherbee Road on the section of road between the curve and the intersection with Wild Rice Road. Discussion followed concerning
the need to set criteria for handling these types of requests. No motions were made.
Susie gave the treasurer’s report and claims were
approved and paid.
Dave gave the road report. Brushing is nearly completed,
but there are some roads that still need attention. He will try to get them done before winter.
Correspondence was reviewed and the meeting adjourned by
general consent at 8:17 p.m.
