Board Members Present: Chairman Mark Platta, Supervisors
Greg Smith and Dave Schultz and Clerk Virginia Rogers. Planning Commission Members Present:
Chairman Brad Arnold and Commissioner Zack Rogers. Curt Engholm was also present.
The property was inspected and various items were noted.
Curt showed that the field has been almost completely cleaned up and he indicated that there have been many loads of debris
taken in for scrap. He stated that he has a large stack of receipts that he could show to prove that he has been working very
hard to clean up the property. He asked about roll off for garbage. It was explained
that we could provide a roll off for recyclables, since that is a service that we do provide at the town hall, but that the
town board could not use tax dollars to pay for a garbage container, because we don’t offer that service to the rest
of the township residents. It’s possible that a cleanup event may be held
this year at the low cost to residents, but a decision has not been made at this time.
Some boats were identified that people will be coming to
pick up in the near future and there are a few vehicles that Curt would like to retain for sentimental reasons. He indicated
that he will have all the other debris removed by the August deadline.
Brad had received information from MPCA that a private
property can have up to 50 tires stored on it if those tires are sorted and organized properly. All tires in excess of that
number must be disposed of.
The meeting adjourned by general consent at 6:45 p.m.
